Terms & Conditions

These are the conditions of booking a Historic Tour. The contract between the parties is made on the terms outlined herein.

Prices- Prices are based on costs from 1st April, 2007 – 31st March, 2008.

Reservations – Are required for all tours on the Historic Tours Website via the booking platform.

Printer - Please ensure you have a working printer before proceeding, as you will need to print your ticket. Please print and sign your online ticket - Bring with you on day of travel. NO TICKET NO ADMISSION

What the price includes - This is specifically stated on each page. Prices Do Not Include Gratuities to the Guide, Driver, Tour Manager or refreshments other extras.

Date of departure & collection timings - These are subject to change or cancellation, should unforeseen circumstances occur. Please reconfirm at time of booking and day before each tour in case of changes to schedules which are outside of the control of Historic Tours.

Convenient returns (coach tours) - Drivers have to currently work under strict legal and time restrictions and therefore you will be dropped back at convenient stops, depending on the traffic conditions. Some times tours may run late due to heavy traffic and it is advisable to allow extra time either side of your tour for your onward journey or return to you accommodation.

Smoking - Smoking is not permitted on board the coach. However during the day tours will make frequent stops.

Senior prices - age 60 years+.

Students - At the time of booking, students must provide an ID card and bring it with them on the day of travel.

Children - Children under eighteen must be accompanied by an adult.

Amendments - Amendments can only be made to coach tours, (please call us 24 hours prior to the departure time and date. Entrance tickets cannot be amended).

Cancellations - Customer Refund Policy (all requests for refunds must be in writing)

3 months notice - 100% refund will be given

2 months notice - 75 % refund will be given

Less than two months notice – 50% refund will be given

Between 24 hours and up to two months notice - customers will be asked to book and alternative date.  (If none are available then a 25% refund will be granted).


Historic Tours Cancellation Policy

Should Historic Tours have to cancel a tour due to factors outside of their control – for example, closure of roads, heavy flooding or other unforeseen circumstances then the tour cancelled will be rescheduled and customers will be asked to book that tour or another tour on one of the other scheduled Saturday dates. If this is not possible then a refund will be provided.

Student and OAP’s will be entitled to a 5 % discount on all tours.

Personal insurance - Is not included. Please ensure you have your own personal travel insurance whilst taking a Historic Tour. You may be asked to provide your insurance details and number.

Luggage - The allowance is one travel size bag not bigger than those carried on airlines and a handbag. All luggage is carried at the passengers own risk and must be collected by the client. Historic tours will take no liability for lost or stolen luggage.

Tour information - While touring, please note that seats are on a first come first serve basis. We may, at our discretion, require any person to withdraw from any tour if we deem their acts or conduct offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, and we shall have no further liability.
We reserve the right to cancel any tours due to lack of demand and also to use vehicles as dictated by demand. We also reserve the right to alter at any time any price, place visited, itinerary owing to unforeseen circumstances. Every endeavour will be made to advise passengers in advance of any alterations which are deemed necessary.
In the event of any passenger not being carried for any cause whatsoever, no liability will be accepted by the operators beyond the refund of the fares. Should the passenger fail to arrive or arrive late at the starting point or during the tour, then no liability whatsoever can be entertained.

Passports & visas - A Passport valid for all countries to be visited must be carried and it is your responsibility to ascertain from your Travel Agent what visas are required.

Accident or Loss - We have no liability for loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or direct or consequential loss, however caused, unless due to our employees negligence, in which case our liability is limited (except for death or personal injury) to a maximum of the refund of the tour cost. We do not own or manage the houses , and we have no liability for loss or damage caused by the proprietors or operators thereof.

Payment – All payments should be made in advance via the on-line payment facility or by cheque to Historic Tours address on the home page.

Credit Cards - Cardholder must be present at the time of presenting the ticket.

General Conditions - No servant or agent of ours can vary our conditions and any such purported variation shall be of no effect unless it has been signed by us. All matters concerning this booking shall be subject to English Law. If you have comments about your sightseeing tour, you should make them to the company at the address on the front page.
